Athiri – Assyrtiko
“Akrani” means beloved friend and is derived from the word “akranis,” which means companion. This word, rarely heard today, appears in folk songs from the Dodecanese. The choice of this name, replacing the original Triantafyllopoulos Vineyards, is not coincidental. It reflects the bonds of friendship with viticulturists, fellow winemakers, local producers, all the people of Kos, as well as visitors, both Greek and foreign, who have visited the winery to this day.
The word “Ktima” emphasizes the Greek origin and the family’s commitment to reviving rare Greek varieties in the terroir of Kos.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Aromas of freshly cut lemon, lemon blossoms, and lime. A hint of chamomile framed by a strong mineral character. Dry on the palate with refreshing acidity, elegant structure, and a slightly saline aftertaste.
Pairings:
Perfect for pairing with savory vegetable tarts, pasta with white and red sauces, salads with fruit dressings, and herb pies. Best served at 9-10°C.
