Sandeman is produced using the traditional Porto wine method, with manual harvesting. The wines are transported from Douro until the following spring when they are moved to Vila Nova de Gaia, where they mature in Sandeman’s cellars in wooden containers. The selected wines are aged between 2-5 years, allowing their average age to be around 3 years while maintaining their freshness and youthfulness.
Organoleptic Characteristics:
It has an excellent ruby red color with clear aromas of red fruits like strawberry and plum. On the palate, the primary red fruit dominates, with richness and balance, containing 95g/l residual sugar.
Pairings:
It pairs exceptionally well with creamy cheeses like Brie and Camembert, chocolate, nuts, and fruit tarts. It can also accompany red meats. Best served at 10-12°C.
