The process involves two aging stages. Initially, the rum ages in the tropical climates of its origin. This first phase is intense due to the warm and humid conditions, which accelerate the aging process and provide rich aromas and flavors.

Subsequently, the rum is transported to Europe for a second aging period. The change in environment allows for slower maturation under more controlled conditions. At this stage, the size of the barrels can influence the final flavor, either by enhancing the characteristic properties of the barrel or simply allowing the rum to rest and mellow.

This process ensures that the final product has a rich taste and balance, combining the intensity of tropical conditions with the refinement of European aging.
