Macallan Gold Double Cask is the revamped version of the Macallan Gold from the 1824 series, which was discontinued in 2018 to make way for the Double Cask, Triple Cask Matured, and Sherry Oak ranges. This single malt whisky has been aged for 12 years in a combination of American and European oak casks.
On the nose, it reveals citrus notes and orange peel, with a sweet interaction that brings balance without diminishing its intensity. On the palate, citrus and boiled sweets dominate, accompanied by hints of ginger and cinnamon, while a touch of oak and baked apples add complexity. The finish is medium, with a sweet malt sensation and a slightly dry aftertaste.
