Guinness is the world’s top-selling stout beer. Its history began in 1759 when Arthur Guinness, at the age of 34, acquired the abandoned St. James’ Gate Brewery in Dublin, Ireland. To secure its future, he signed a 9,000-year lease! By the 1930s, one in ten men in Dublin worked at the brewery, which was famous for its generous wages and, of course, for brewing the beloved Guinness beer.
This authentic dark beer owes its color to roasted barley. The finest Irish barley forms the heart of the beer. Renowned for its signature creamy foam and smooth taste, both achieved through nitrogen carbonation instead of carbon dioxide, Guinness has a gentle aroma of roasted caramel. Despite its rich flavor, it is low in calories, making it a delightful and balanced choice.
