El Jimador is a tequila produced in the historic village of Amatitán, in the Jalisco region, known as the “heart” of Mexico’s richest agave-growing area. Its name pays tribute to the farmers who harvest the agave plants, known as “jimadores.” Since its launch in 1994, El Jimador has become the most popular tequila in Mexico. In 2006, it was awarded the gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, one of the most prestigious competitions globally.
