Kostas Lazaridis Estate stands out as one of the first wineries to cultivate the Agiorgitiko variety outside the Peloponnese, specifically in Drama, at the foothills of Mount Menoikio, since 1998. This wine matures for 12 months in French oak barrels, 20% of which are new.
Organoleptic Characteristics:
The wine boasts a bright and intense ruby color, with an aromatic palette dominated by strawberry and cherry aromas. Forest fruits like raspberry and blackberry add depth to the composition, while the presence of sweet spices provides additional complexity. On the palate, the wine is mature and elegant, with balanced acidity and velvety tannins. The finish is medium in length, leaving a pleasant and lasting impression.
Pairings:
It pairs excellently with Neapolitan or Bolognese pasta dishes, light meat dishes, and even fish dishes such as baked mackerel, beef stew, Smyrna meatballs, moussaka, eggplants with tomato, pizza, meat pies, sausages, and yellow cheeses. Serve at 16-18°C.
