The iconic and beloved Amethystos Red, created in 1991 by Kostas Lazaridis, showcases the dynamism and character of the Drama vineyard through this blend, which includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Agiorgitiko.
Organoleptic Characteristics:
It has a bright and dense crimson-red color. The bouquet is well-structured, with aromas of red forest fruits, cherry jam, and spices, all delicately underpinned by oak. Warm and full on the first sip, it gradually reveals its richness, structure, and noble, harmonious tannins. The long finish brings back the fruit and spice aromas.
Pairings:
It pairs excellently with all red meats, especially with grilled lamb chops or oven-roasted lamb leg. It is also delightful with braised beef or mature soft cheeses like Brie and Camembert. Serve at 16-18 °C.
