The 1995 Malaga Cask from Bushmills is a limited edition release that stands out for its rare maturation process in Malaga casks, making it a bold addition to their range. The whiskey first aged for around 11 years in sherry and bourbon barrels, before finishing for an additional 14 years in Malaga casks, under the supervision of Master Blender Helen Mulholland.
On the nose, it is harmonious and rich, although slightly more subtle compared to other whiskies, with aromas of dried fruits, mocha coffee, cocoa, and caramel. On the palate, it reveals sweet and fruity notes with a pronounced fruitiness, offering flavors of tropical fruit jam, apple syrup, cinnamon, and cherry and blackberry jam. The finish is long and fruity, leaving a very pleasant impression.
