This whisky is a mildly smoky spirit, featuring sweet and salty notes with a full-bodied character. It hails from Bowmore, the oldest distillery on Islay and the second oldest in Scotland, with a history dating back to 1779. Bowmore is one of the few distilleries in the country that still handcrafts its own malt using traditional malting floors, a method that has been in use for over 300 years.
Some of Bowmore’s whiskies mature in the famous Bowmore Vaults, located below sea level, imparting unique characteristics that define their distinctive flavor and texture.
