From a new and up-and-coming producer in Nemea, this distinctive Chardonnay wine arrives to pleasantly surprise us, proving that this region can indeed produce outstanding white wines. Christos Barafakas utilizes acacia barrels, imparting an intense yet elegant barrel-aged character that will delight even those who typically find this style challenging.
Organoleptic Characteristics:
The wine displays a bright and intense lemon color with golden highlights. The pervasive aromas of stone fruits like peach, tropical fruits such as pineapple, and apple harmonize beautifully with the wood and vanilla notes derived from the three-month aging in acacia barrels. On the palate, it is full-bodied with acidity that brings balance, while hints of minerals complement the nose’s aromas. The vanilla-infused aftertaste lingers for a long time. This is a world-class wine with an excellent price-to-quality ratio.
Pairings:
It pairs perfectly with carbonara, tortellini with white sauces, creamy mushrooms, grilled chicken, cabbage rolls, and fatty fish. Best served at 7-12°C.
